Eczema (Dermatitis)
Eczema is an allergic reaction in the skin producing inflammation resulting in red, itchy patches. Blisters may develop which then rupture and weep. The skin may become dry and scaly and occasionally swell.

Contact dermatitis the skin reacts to a substance with which it is in contact and these may include metal allergy, perfumes, cosmetics, rubber, medicated creams or ointment, plants etc.

Atopic dermatitis may be triggered by food allergies and stress or tension

Sometimes eczema can be seen as an attempt by the body to throw off accumulated toxins through the skin, especially where the diet has been very poor. Therefore it is important to adopt a ‘whole food’ diet. Excluding possible allergenic foods such as dairy products, wheat, sugar products and food additives. Implement a high alkaline, low acid diet - this is a diet high in fresh salads, fruits and vegetables.

PSORIASIS
Psoriasis is a skin disease in which the skin grows too rapidly on certain parts of the body, forming thick red inflamed patches covered with a scale. In severe cases the skin may crack and bleed.

This condition is not infectious. The red scaly patches appear most often on the knees and elbows but can erupt anywhere. They are itchy and weepy.

Adopt a ‘whole food’ diet. Restrict dairy products and meat but eliminate totally refined carbohydrates, tea, coffee and wheat. Increase protein intake with unsalted nuts, seeds, grains (except wheat) and pulses. Have a high daily intake of fresh fruit, salads and vegetables.
